A Safe Space for the international community
A space thoughtfully created to support people living away from home.
Our Mission
Supporting Internationals Through Every Challenge
At Sentire, we recognize that living
as an international resident brings a unique set of emotional and psychological challenges that require specialized understanding and support. Our mission is to provide a space where you are seen, understood, and supported , no matter where you come from.
We specialize in therapy for the international community,
offering both online sessions and in-person community events in Madrid . Our goal is to help international residents find direction in confusing times, perspective in overwhelming situations, and, most importantly, a sense of belonging in their new home.
Our approach is rooted in the understanding that emotions
are not obstacles to overcome, but valuable sources of information that deserve to be heard and understood. We believe that by helping our clients accept and engage with their thoughts and emotions, rather than fight against them, we can facilitate movement toward what truly matters to them.
We understand how difficult it can be
Our team is uniquely positioned to understand your experience because we have witnessed the stories of the international community through our clients, friends, and perhaps even our own experiences.
We see firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate life in a new country, and we are committed to being a supportive space for you. We know how emotionally complex it can be to:
Being Far From
Loved Ones
The ache of missing important moments, the feeling of watching your loved ones age from afar, the guilt that can creep in because you are far from home, and the new kind of loneliness you may have never experienced before.
Learning a new language
Intense and complex feelings
Anxiety about the future
Feeling Disconnected From Part of Yourself
The sense that pieces of your identity are scattered across different countries, the challenge of expressing yourself fully in a second language, and the difficulty of integrating your past self with who you are becoming in your new environment.
Navigating New Relationships
How We Work
Befriending Your Emotions
At Sentire, we believe that lasting change
comes not from fighting your emotions, but from learning to understand and work with them. Our therapeutic approach is based on the principle that emotions are messengers, carrying valuable information about our needs, values, and experiences.
Our therapists are committed to
continuous learning and growth, constantly improving their ability to listen deeply and support clients in living a meaningful life. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we work collaboratively with each client to develop strategies that honor their unique cultural background, personal history, and individual goals.
We help clients develop skills
to approach their thoughts and feelings with curiosity rather than judgment, understanding rather than criticism, and acceptance rather than resistance. This approach fosters genuine healing and sustainable personal growth.
The Meaning Behind Sentire
The word “Sentire” comes from Latin and means “to feel.” We chose this name because it perfectly encapsulates our philosophy and approach to mental health care. In a world that often encourages us to push through difficult emotions or ignore them entirely, we believe feelings deserve to be acknowledged, understood, and honored.
The name also reflects our commitment to both technical expertise and genuine passion for the field of psychology. We combine evidence-based therapeutic techniques with a deep, personal understanding of what it means to navigate life as an international resident.
When you decide to start therapy with Sentire, you’re not just receiving professional mental health support, you’re joining a community that truly strives to understand your journey and is committed to helping you.
